Babcock is excited to partner with Air New Zealand in delivering an exciting and diverse contract to support the asset management and sustainment activities for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in locations nationally. Working with Air New Zealand as its trusted asset management partner, Babcock is delivering a customised and innovative asset management solution to drive reliability and efficiency improvements of equipment and provide significant long-term capability and cost benefits.
In order to support the introduction and ongoing delivery of this contract we now have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Team Lead to join our team based in Auckland
About the role
The Supply Chain Team Leader is responsible for all supply chain activities associated with the Air New Zealand contract, which will include inventory planning, stocktaking management, managing suppliers and the procurement of services. They will deliver a high quality solution, which exceeds the customers’ expectations and complies with all contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Manage the selection criteria and due diligence of suppliers and contracted service providers.
Monitor and review supplier performance and contract compliance, negotiate improved purchasing agreements and reduce overall procurement costs.
Establish and monitor contracts with approved suppliers.
Assess potential for national vendor stock opportunities.
Establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to the assessment and approval of suppliers.
Manage the procurement function of Parts/Equipment/Services
Coordination with operations for required services within the Babcock policies
Ensure compliance with procurement policy at all sites.
End to end warehouse and inventory management processes
Work to defined stock taking policies and procedures for all inventory, assets and equipment.
Ensure sufficient resources are applied to SCM activities.
Ensure a safe work place in line with Babcock and all internal and external stakeholders HSE requirements.
Jointly establish and sustain the Strategic Supply Chain Management (SCM) plan.
Ensure all ERP/MRP data is accurate and up to date
This role will align with a tertiary qualified and experienced Supply Chain professional that has demonstrable experience in leading teams within the commercial aviation, manufacturing, engineering or asset management sectors. You will be a confident team player with a passion for identifying and driving change, and someone that enjoys managing, leading and developing members of your team. You will have exceptional time management and organisational skills coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload with a strong attention to detail. Experience within the equipment/fleet maintenance and repair industry and multi-site workshops specialising in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles or equipment would be highly regarded.
