Babcock is excited to partner with Air New Zealand in delivering an exciting and diverse contract to support the asset management and sustainment activities for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in locations nationally. Working with Air New Zealand as its trusted asset management partner, Babcock is delivering a customised and innovative asset management solution to drive reliability and efficiency improvements of equipment and provide significant long-term capability and cost benefits.

In order to support the introduction and ongoing delivery of this contract we now have an exciting opportunity for a Storeperson to join our team based in Auckland.

About the Role

Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager the Store person is responsible for the efficient operation of all facets of the Babcock store and additionally supporting our workshop technicians in non-trade specific tasks.

 

Key responsibilities are as follows:

 

    • Maintain security and integrity of stores

    • Kit-to-order parts for the workshop

    • Pick up goods from designated airport hold points

    • Ensuring store is kept tidy and clean at all times

    • Check consumables when required

    • Cycle count and Stock Takes

    • Goods Receipt of all inbound movements

    • Control of waste and recycling and disposal of obsolete goods

    • Plan work activities to ensure timely performance and compliance with company  and customer requirements

    • Receiving, scanning, sorting and placing incoming goods on shelves ensuring stock accuracy

    • Timely dispatch of outgoing goods

    • Application of Babcock HSEQ management systems to store operations

    • Raising of purchase requisitions for stocks required

    • Maintain chemical register

    • Operating computer systems to obtain details of stock quantity and location

    • Operating machinery such as a forklift to lift, place and remove items

    • Working in accordance with strict Occupational Health & Safety guidelines

       

       

      About You

      This role will align with an experienced Stores person experience within aerospace, manufacturing or technical engineering organisation. Additionally you will be a confident team and someone that enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly.
