Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Stores Officer to join our developing team based in Henderson
The Stores Officer plays a key role in the effective operation of the NSM Logistics function. The role contributes to best practice warehousing within the Henderson facility through timely coordination of all deliveries, despatches, storing and disposals of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)/Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE) and Defence inventory.
The Stores Officer has a range of duties that include but not limited to:
Receipt all inwards freight delivered to the Henderson warehouse facility;
Issue GFE/CFE and Defence Inventory as required by the customer;
Despatch all outwards freight despatched from the Henderson warehouse facility;
Maintain an Inwards and Outwards freight register for the warehouse facility;
Stage/Stow all GFE/CFE and Defence Inventory (including ITAR) that is required to be held at the Henderson warehouse facility;
Ensure that all inventory held is stored In accordance with current warehousing conventions;
Maintain up to date bin locations of inventory held ensuring the appropriate inventory management system (MILIS, SAP or Excel) updated daily;
Staging GFE/CFE and defence Inventory functionally for issue to the end customer;
Control of transport, distribution and storage of GFE/CFE at NSM’s warehouse;
Return unused/returnable/replacement GFE to the Commonwealth;
Liaise with relevant SIO to action disposals as required; and
Coordinate the requirements for all MHE/HRE for assigned warehouse tasks.
This role will align with an experienced Stores/Warehouse Officer that has a proven track record of delivery within a busy supply chain environment. You will ideally have supporting qualifications within an associated discipline and have an excellent interpersonal, communications and stakeholder’s engagement skillset. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience and/or qualifications in dangerous goods packaging and a heavy rigid licence would be highly advantageous
