Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Ship Manager to join NSM based centrally in Sydney, NSW.
About the Role
The Ship Manager will play a key role in one of NSM’s key contracts W A M A (in support of the Anzac Class Vessels) and strategically oversee the quality and effectiveness of the project management services being provided on this contract.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Oversee the development of EMP requirements to meet the Ship Maintenance Availability Master Plan
Manage the Key Date Schedule and engage with key stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and execution of availabilities
Approve task additions to the Main Work List and Growth to scope to be added to availabilities for the ship
Manage Urgent Defect actions
Develop and maintain a relationship with the ship to ensure the Ship Manager is the first point of call for all ship sustainment issues
This role will align with maintenance professionals that possesses experience in delivering complex projects ideally within warship major platform systems environment. You will be highly experienced in the maintenance planning/analytics and/or scheduling field and will ideally have experience in high level reporting to governing bodies such as Navy or Defence. Ideally candidates will possess suitable Engineering, Project Management or associated trade qualifications, along with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving improvement activities and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly
