Quality Technician Support Officer

We currently have an engaging opportunity for an experienced Quality Technician Support Officer to join our high performing Marine team based in our Osborne facility. This role will support Quality Control (QC) systems & processes to ensure product integrity is maintained, from the acceptance of goods to the dispatch of finished product, in support of Collins Class submarine maintenance & support and other contracts as required.
In order to succeed in this role, you will be able to:
Perform all duties in line with Babcock and client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management policies and procedures.
Utilise all available business systems tools and technology available to streamline data processing tasks, to include (but not limited to) ERP/MRP, BMS, SharePoint, Office suite etc.
Undertake all mandatory training as required.
Support the business to maintain a 95% or greater On-Time delivery performance, escalating At-Risk deliveries to ensure remediation steps are developed.
Support the physical and documentary acceptance process for goods inwards after stores receipt.
Liaise with other internal departments to ensure data accuracy, initiating updates as required.
Support reviews of Internal and External Purchase Order data to ensure alignment of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) attributes.
Support the creation of Manufacturers Data Reports for submission to customer for Product deliveries.
Witnessing of tests and other process as required
Support the management of the Return To Vendor (RTV) process and reporting of close out progress.
Support the management of the Non Conformance Report (NCR) and Corrective Action Report (CAR) processes and reporting of close out progress.
Compile reports on Quality based KPIs related to operational activities.
Support all Internal and External Audit reviews, reporting on action close out progress.
Support the management of calibrated equipment to ensure available to meet business needs.
Support to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained in regards to product and documentary requirements.
Ideally the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience or qualifications in the following areas
Mechanical trade background/certification
Understanding and Interpretation of drawings.
Knowledge of material specification/grades.
Knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic equipment (Actuators, Interlocks, Valves etc.)
Strong attention to detail.
Metrology experience – Use of measuring equipment and understanding of geometric tolerance
Quality Systems knowledge and experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Ability to interact at all levels and communicate clearly and effectively to groups or individuals.
