Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL. NSM is a key Alliance Partner in the Warship Asset Management Agreement that provides asset management and sustainment for the ANZAC & LHD Class vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.

NSM currently has an exciting newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Procurement Analyst based in North Sydney.

The Procurement Analyst will be responsible for data management and reporting to ensure Procurement Team deliverables are accurate, on time, and useful. The Procurement Analyst will facilitate on-time collection of supplier performance data and provide advice as to when data relevancy needs consideration. The incumbent of this role will maintain the Procurement Team Business Management database in addition to acting as the operational lead in the administration and maintenance of the supply management environment of Beacon Vendor Management Tool.

This role has a range of duties that include:

  • Working with Procurement Managers and other key members of the NSM Supply Chain, coordinate and contribute to the creation and maintenance of SAP Vendor and Material Master data sets.

  • Monitor and ensure suppliers’ pricing and other key data in SAP are always current.

  • Monitor and manage internal systems compliance and produce system reporting to the specified operating rhythm.

  • In conjunction with Procurement Managers, create/maintain Outline Agreements.

  • Create and produce reporting and dashboards covering supplier performance, spend against contracts, sourcing activity, and general performance of the NSM Supply Chain.

  • Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, trend analysis etc. as required.

  • Ensure maintenance and currency of Procurement Team policy and procedures.

  • Establishment and ongoing generation of procurement performance metrics, creating transparency of the value added by the procurement function.

About you:

This role will align with an experienced procurement professional that ideally has degree level qualifications and a proven track record of delivery within a complex business environment. You will be experienced within contract management that possess excellent interpersonal skills and a strong system and process mind-set and understanding. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying opportunities, driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high-level ERP & computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. Knowledge and understanding MILIS and Commonwealth Procurement processes, policies, and practical application of the Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines will be highly regarded
