We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Manager to join our high performing Marine team based at our Osborne facility.
Reporting to the General Manager of submarines the HSEQ Manager is in charge of the safety, health, environment, quality compliance as well as reporting and auditing for their designated business unit. They provide practical hands-on quality and safety systems coordination to support Babcock Australia operations within their business unit under the authority of the Babcock Australasia Executive Committee (EXCO).
The HSEQ Manager provides key support for the ongoing continuous improvement of the company safety culture and Safety Management Systems, including facilitation of the highest practical standard of safety performance and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Leading the administration, implementation and education on Babcock’s HSEQ practices, policies and procedures;
Leading major incident and accident investigations
Co-ordinating the investigative review/follow up of hazard and occurrence reports submitted into the organisations Hazard and Occurrence Reporting System;
Delivering Quality, Safety and Environmental training and induction programs
Assisting in preparation and facilitation of Safety Committee meetings with equivalent representatives from other Babcock business units and participate in HSE review meetings.
Facilitating and representing the business for the purposes of maintaining ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001 and AS/NZ4801 external accreditation, including coordinating the timely resolution of any identified non-conformances.
Providing a complete audit schedule covering quality oversight of all products and practices performed by Babcock.
Providing analysis of all HSEQ data and report monthly to senior management.
Acting as the subject matter expert for governance, compliance and reporting matters as they relate to health, safety, environmental and quality issues within the business.
You will have experience in a senior HSEQ role in a similar industry. Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and legislative requirements are required. Additionally, as a qualified ISO9001 Lead Auditor, you will have experience conducting internal and supplier audits and possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving improvement activities and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills and a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. Qualifications within a HSEQ associated discipline and Incident Investigation would be advantageous.
