Career Opportunity – HSEQ Manager – Aviation

An exciting opportunity exists for a HSEQ Aviation Professional to join our growing HSEQ team, reporting directly into the Head of HSEQ - Aviation. This role will based at our new Regional Head Office based in the Adelaide CBD; with frequent travel required to our locations across the Australasia.

As an integral part of our HSEQ team, you will have an active involvement in overseeing and maintaining our Air Operating Certificates for our Aviation business units that support our Mission Critical Services and our Offshore Oil and Gas contracts.

Some of the key activities you will deliver include:

  • Assist the Head of HSEQ - Aviation in the implementation of HSEQ policies to the aviation Business Units derived from the overarching Australasia policies and identify initiatives to maintain and improve standards;

  • Develop and execute the internal audit program ensuring audits are completed and recorded, managing corrective, remedial and preventative action in relation to the system;

  • Manage, direct and carry out the appropriate investigation of safety-related matters and make any necessary reports to the relevant authorities as required by regulations and SMS requirements;

  • Manage and direct the actioning and distribution of accident, incident and occurrence reports;

  • Liaise with and advise all personnel, through meetings and base visits, on matters concerning HSEQ;

  • Monitor CASA regulatory and legislative changes, monitors HSEQ legislation changes and ensures appropriate action is taken when changes occur; and

  • Ensure that relevant safety performance reports are produced for the Head of HSEQ – Aviation in line with SMS requirements and reporting timeframes.

 

About You

This role will resonate with experienced HSEQ Professionals who enjoy working within a fast paced environment within a complex, multi-layered organisation.

Your experience will include;

  • Prior experience within Aviation or experience within a relevant industry such as HEMS, Marine, Oil and Gas, or Engineering;

  • Sound knowledge of CASA and WH&S legislation and Operational Risk Management;

  • Completion of, or the willingness to undertake further training to obtain the ISO9001 Lead Auditor’s Certificate;

  • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills;

  • Experience conducting safety audits, accident investigations and processing Hazard and Safety Occurrence Reports; and

  • A Tertiary Qualification in a related area is advantageous.
