Health & Safety Manager
Babcock International Group has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services for over a century. With revenue of around $9 billion in 2016/17, we improve the capability, reliability and availability of our customers’ most critical assets across Marine, Land and Aviation sectors.
Nothing is more important to Babcock than the safety of its people, customers and the community in which we work. With the motto of ‘Home Safe Every Day’, we have an uncompromising commitment to health and safety.
Why the role?
Reporting to the Head of HR and Safety, with direct access to the GM and international safety teams, you will be responsible for enabling the business to lead on all aspects of a positive safety culture, by setting strategy, managing a broad range of stakeholders and staying ahead of the curve in terms of best practice.
You will be ably assisted by your enthusiastic and skilled team, who are extremely well respected within the business and are keen to continuing developing their talents.
You will be an experienced professional who thrives on challenge and change. Ideally you’ll be familiar with heavy industry environments and have a strong customer/stakeholder focus. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to tailor your approach to your audience, whether that’s an executive committee, a Worker, a client, or a partnering PCBU.
This is a career defining role in which you will be able to see continuous improvement on a daily basis. Based in Devonport, arguably we boast the best view in the city! Add that to free parking, employee share schemes, a fascinating naval marine environment and you’ve got the recipe for a lot of fun.
