Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Engineering Manager to join their growing and successful team based in Sydney.
The Engineering Manager is responsible for assisting the development and growth of Engineering and Asset Management capability and capacity within NSM in accordance with the company’s strategic objectives.
To be the successful candidate for this position you will require the following qualifications and experience:
Develop, deliver, and update Management Plans and associated documentation as required;
Extend capabilities and capacity through selective engagement of 3rd parties to support NSM’s Engineering and Asset Management service offering;
Maintain an Engineering and Asset Management competency framework across NSM;
Ensure NSM holds the appropriate level of expertise, competency and delegation (both NSM’s and the customer’s) to deliver Engineering and Asset Management services;
Maintain, promote and enforce standards and procedures for control and quality;
Responsible for the quality, safety and timeliness of Engineering and Asset Management services, including those provides via 3rd parties;
Ensure that Engineering and Asset Management services are reported and delivered in accordance with requirements;
Undertake governance and assurance from an Engineering and Asset Management perspective across all NSM contracts;
Supporting all estimating activities that relate to Engineering and Asset Management services and that all relevant project finances are controlled, reported on and any required corrective measures are initiated promptly.
NSM are seeking an experienced Engineering professional that has a proven track record of delivery within a complex marine, engineering or defence environment. You will be an experienced leader ideally with Chartered Professional Engineer status and have an excellent interpersonal and analytical skill set. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and enjoys working within a team environment. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. Ideally the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Asset Management best practice and ISO 55001.
