Babcock now has an exciting and newly created full time opportunity for an Engineer  to join our growing team based in our state of the art Adelaide CBD headquarters

About the Role

This Engineering position will provide support to existing in-country operations and business development activities to ensure all Land and Counter-Chemical Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (C-CBRNE) objectives are successfully achieved through the adoption of engineering process, systems and activities.

This role will report to the Account Manager and the basic responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

    • Provide expertise in establishing needs, requirements and specifications for new equipment acquisitions, business systems and processes.

    • Deliver high quality solutions that meet customers’ expectations and comply with contractual obligations.

    • Provide expertise to improve processes and a structured approach relating to needs analysis, problem definition, requirements analysis and definition, systems design and verification/validation of solutions.

    • Provide guidance and support to project teams for systems engineering issues.

    • Support and develop technical engineering and compliance processes to ensure integration with all operational areas.

    • Engineering support to Land business development activity, bids, costings, proposals and engagement with potential customers.

    • Promote and pro-actively develop a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout engagement with the business and customer.

    • Support the business development activities with documentation of needs, problem definition, requirements analysis and definition, systems design, solution option analysis and verification/validation.

    • To support the asset management team in scoping, developing and implementing improvement initiatives to ensure contractual deliverables and excellence to customers as per the business unit objectives.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS and associated technical legislation..

    • Ensure integrity of data held on the business IT systems and system development as determined by contractual need.

    • Provide technical input to support life cycle costing models

    • Maintain an awareness of industry 'best practice' and provide regular updates to the business and customers of news and developments within the industry sectors.

About You

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in an associated engineering discipline and will have extensive experience in a similar role within a technical engineering environment.  You will have exceptional time management experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, an ability to be able to communicate at all levels of the business and across all internal and external stakeholders is considered essential in order to be successful in this position. The successful candidate will have high-level computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes. Direct Counter-Chemical Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive or defence experience would be highly regarded
