Critical Risk Management Coordinator

Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Critical Risk Management Coordinator to join our developing team based in Sydney
The Critical Risk Management Coordinator role is crucial in the safe execution of Critical Risk activities and the consistent application of Critical Risk Management Controls across the NSM business. The objective of this role is successful planning, coordination and monitoring of Critical Risk Activities within NSM’s scope of work.
The Critical Risk Management Coordinator has a range of duties that include but not limited to:
Review Critical Risk activity requests and ensure Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) compliance with the Critical Risk Management processes
Liaise with stakeholders in the planning, scheduling and execution of Critical Risk activities
Communicate Critical Risk Activity schedule to appropriate stakeholders within time requirements
Coordinate the Critical Risk Management Team consisting of Confined Space, Emergency Response, Isolations and Permit Control
Where required, issue Permits for Critical Risk Activities
Conduct monitoring and compliance activities to ensure permits are issued and Critical Risk Activities are carried out in accordance with Critical Risk Management processes
Provide support and guidance to NSM and Subcontractors on Critical Risk Management, ensuring a consistent application of Critical Risk
Assist with project pre-planning and post-project reviews to identify lessons learnt and implement continuous improvement
Assist with the review/update of Critical Risk Management documents to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, parent company and contractual requirements
Report performance to Production Manager and HSE Manager
Record HSE Events in NSM’s Event Management System (EMS) (as required)
Maintain documents relating to Critical Risk Activities (may include permits, registers, risk assessments).
This role will align with an experienced Risk / HSE professional that has a proven track record of delivery within a complex manufacturing environment. You will ideally have a minimum qualification of Cert IV on OHS/WHS and have an excellent interpersonal, communications and stakeholder’s engagement skillset. Additionally you will have high level excel and general computer skills and be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes with a strong attention to detail .The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety accreditation and legislative requirements as well as supporting certification/experience within ICAM, working at heights and confined space.
