Babcock now has an exciting and newly created full time opportunity for a Commercial Officer to join our growing team based in our Adelaide CBD headquarters.
About the Role
The Commercial Officer has a key role in ensuring that contract management is being controlled and is aligned to internal and external stakeholder’s expectations and systems across all commercial aspects.
This role will report to the Senior Commercial Manager and the basic responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Commercial administration of key project contracts, including subcontracts flow down
Assist with management of all commercial aspects of bids and tenders
Indirect negotiation for all commercially related topics with customers and suppliers
Pro-active support to the Senior Commercial Managers and other internal stakeholders, including the executive management team
Anti-Bribery and Corruption Officer for the Australasian region
Preparation and review of contractual templates
Submission of monthly management reports
Company secretary duties such as ASIC annual report lodgement, changes in corporate structure and upkeep of company registers
Provision of assistance with local delegation of authority rules
Undertake due diligence investigation (customer and supplier relationships)
Assistance with insurance queries
Assistance with monitoring and reporting against statutory and regulatory changes relevant to the business
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified (desirable) in Commerce, Law or similar associated field and will have extensive experience in a similar role within a technical environment. You will have exceptional time management experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, an ability to be able to communicate at all levels of the business and across all internal and external stakeholders is considered essential in order to be successful in this position. The successful candidate will have high-level MS Offices computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes
