About the opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer (BI) to join our growing Business Solutions team in Adelaide, SA.

Reporting to the Business Applications Manager you will create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data in to knowledge and design, build and deploy BI solutions and business reports. In addition you will maintain and support data analytics platforms.

Working with the business, you will translate requirements to develop and present relevant solutions.

Interstate travel will be required.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist preferably within a defence environment
  • A background in data warehouse design (eg dimensional modelling), and data mining
  • An in-depth understanding of database management systems and OLAP and ETL frameworks
  • A familiarity with BI technologies (Microsoft Power BI, Oracle, QlikView)
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SSRS and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline eg computer science or engineering

 

Working autonomously, you are highly organised, can prioritise and meet strict deadlines. You understand the importance of collaboration and team focus to achieve business outcomes.

You are a confident communicator, comfortable dealing with diverse stakeholders to understand and identify their needs.  Your strong problem solving skills enable you to develop and present innovative solutions to your customers.

Defence security clearance is required for this role and applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance. Current NV1 clearance will be highly regarded.
