Asset Performance and Optimisation Manager

Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Asset Performance and Optimisation Manager to join NSM based in Sydney.
The Asset Performance and Optimisation Manager is responsible for the delivery of Asset Management services, with a focus on asset performance and optimisation activities, required to meet the requirements of the LHD Asset Class Principal Contractor (ACPC) Support Contract that optimises the delivery of long-term material seaworthy warships and associated support infrastructure to the Commonwealth. Duties are conducted within the constraints of the available budget while supporting the collective strategic objectives of the participant stakeholders.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Develop, integrate and maintain the Asset Management System
Ensure the Asset Management System is maintained to a level necessary to comply with relevant ISO 5500 Standards and meet the desired asset outcomes including costs, availability and long-term through-life performance capability;
Develop, deliver, and update Management Plans and associated documentation as required
Champion the development and implementation of the Asset Management Training Plan for the enterprise to ensure a robust and effective Asset Management culture is developed and maintained
Maintain an Asset Management competency framework across LHD ACPC;
Ensure NSM holds the appropriate level of expertise, competency and delegation (both NSM’s and the customer’s) to deliver Asset Management services;
Maintain, promote and enforce standards and procedures for control and quality;
Ensure that Asset Management services are reported and delivered in accordance with the documented requirements
Responsibility for the quality, safety and timeliness of Asset Management services; including those provided by 3rd parties.
Asset Performance and Optimisation
Management responsibility for Asset Performance and Optimisation personnel within the team;
Analyse, interrogate, manipulate and report asset data in accordance with Program and Defence reporting requirements.
Monitor LHD Assets operational and support performance.
Lead on operational and support modelling.
Provide cost data, analysis, modelling, forecasting and reporting through a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model.
Seek to continually reduce the overall cost of ownership through optimisation activities while maintaining the required levels of capability and availability;
Lead the preparation of business cases for Commonwealth consideration of options to manage asset optimisation outcomes.
This role will align with an experienced degree qualified Asset Management professional that ideally has a proven track record of delivery within a complex marine engineering environment and possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving improvement activities and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your workload and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high-level computer skills and a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. Previous experience with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and/or the Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) will be highly regarded.
