Supply Support Manager

We currently have an exciting and newly created full time permanent opportunity for experienced and professional Supply Support Manager to join our high performing marine business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Program Manager the Supply Support Manager is responsible for establishing a broad range of long term supplier agreements and sub-contracts, which where possible will maximise the opportunity of new and existing contractual agreements and arrangements.  Additionally this role be responsible for managing all aspects of internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Responsible for developing a robust, efficient and effective supply chain that is critical to the success of the Maritime business unit and provide consistent high performance at, or above company and client milestone targets.

  • Leading the implementation of new systems, processes and long term supplier agreements/subcontracts.

  • Management of overhead expenditure and sales forecasts to meet planned budgets.

  • Develop and implement supply chain policies, processes and plans for the Maritime business.

  • Demand and inventory  planning and procurement arrangements for all customer driven parts and consumables

  • Manage the issue and control of Government & Customer Furnished Materials.

  • Deliver a Material List of all furnished materials required to support the annual IIP.

  • Work with the Continuous Improvement business function to develop and implement change initiatives that deliver productivity and efficiency benefits, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Participate in the development of solutions, cost estimates and risk assessments for quotations and tenders.

  • Monitor and manage process efficiency to maximise customer satisfaction and value for money by supporting and reporting on timely resolution of resourcing issues and providing monthly sales forecasts to the finance team

  • Monitor and report on the progress of all activities by engagement of stakeholders and actively participating in Operations, milestone, tool box, project planning and other necessary meetings.

  • Ensure all imported and exported products and services are covered by appropriate licenses and agreements.

  • Ensure contractors / suppliers are sourced, assessed, engaged, managed, supervised and reviewed in accordance with Babcock policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation in regards to ISO standards.

  • Monitor Supply Chain Performance across the Marine business, and develop improvement strategies to ensure they are at, or above, company and customer targets.

  • Advise and report on current performance targets and issues to the project team on a regular basis in alignment with project and Marine business needs.

 

About You

This role will align with an experienced Supply Chain professional that has a proven track record of delivery within a project implementation or development phase within a defence, logistics, manufacturing or technical engineering organisation. You will be an experienced departmental leader preferably with tertiary level qualifications within an associated discipline and possesses a strong contractual/commercial understanding of complex project or business. You will have an excellent interpersonal and analytical skill set and you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. Familiarity with defence procurement and inventory systems would be advantages

The successful candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
