We currently have an exciting full time permanent opportunity for an experienced and Storesperson to join our high performing Marine Division. This position will be based in our facility at Techport, Osborne
About the Role
Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager the Storesperson is responsible for the efficient operation of all facets of the Babcock store and additionally supporting our workshop technicians in non-trade specific tasks.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Maintain security and integrity of stores;
Plan work activities to ensure timely performance and compliance with company and customer requirements;
Receiving, scanning, sorting and placing incoming goods on shelves ensuring stock accuracy;
Timely picking, packing and despatch of goods to meet workload demands;
Application of Babcock HSEQ management systems to store operations;
Maintain chemical register;
Operating computer systems to obtain details of stock quantity and location;
Operating machinery such as a forklift to lift, place and remove items;
Assisting with regular stock takes and cleaning of worksite;
Control of waste and recycling and disposal of obsolete goods;
Working in accordance with strict Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.
This role will align with an experienced Stores person that has extensive experience within a defence, manufacturing or technical engineering organisation. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and someone that enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills a forklift licence and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly.
The successful candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
