Site and Materials Coordinator

Naval Ship Management (NSM) is a Joint Venture between Babcock and UGL and currently has an exciting newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Site and Materials Coordinator to join the NSM based in Sydney.
The Site and Materials Coordinator has a key role in coordinating all on-site logistics involving facilities, works stations, vehicles, and the NSM network ICT connection, and will perform these duties at an operational level to support the Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) Asset Class Prime Contractor (ACPC) Team during the mobilisation phases of the Phase-In.
This role will then transition to the direct support of production activities, contributing to the management and accountability of subcontractor materials and project services required in support of NSM (Australia) repair and maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Assisting with the planning and mobilisation of staff to the relevant NSM, LHD and ACPC sites
Managing NSM, LHD and ACPC site amenities, plant and equipment
Sourcing office furniture and other stationary items required to support the activities
Collecting from the warehouse all items transferred from the NSM Henderson office
Submitting, monitoring and issuing of UGL RFAs for stores and equipment requests
Leading the “Safety First” culture throughout NSM
Ensuring individual and team compliance with all NSM policies, procedures, guidelines in a way that not only meets company requirements, but also addresses commercial obligations, risk management, and protection of intellectual property.
Ensuring that decision making is made in accordance with the Delegations of Authority Limits policy
You will have experience in a similar role and prior experience within the Defence sector. You will possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving improvement activities and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will be proficient in use of the Microsoft Office suite, have SAP and MILIS experience, and a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. A forklift licence and current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence would be advantageous.
