Receptionist/Admin

Babcock International Group has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services for over a century. With revenue of around $9 billion in 2016/17, we improve the capability, reliability and availability of our customers’ most critical assets across Marine, Land and Aviation sectors.

Nothing is more important to Babcock than the safety of its people, customers and the community in which we work. With the motto of ‘Home Safe Every Day’, we have an uncompromising commitment to health and safety.

About the role:

In this position you will be the face of Babcock in New Zealand!  As a frontline Receptionist you’ll be responsible for meeting, greeting and directing our visitors, guests, employees and uniformed naval personnel.  You’ll also be ensuring that our reception and shared office areas are in tip top shape, and that the wider team has everything they need to keep doing an excellent job.

On the admin side, you’ll also be responsible for coordinating training across the site, as well as supporting our close-knit HR team with essential recruitment activity.  You’ll be a valued part of the HR team, and there is opportunity to grow within this role if it appeals to you!

About you:

It goes without saying that customer service is really important to you.  You’re reliable, professional, enthusiastic and the kind of person who ‘gets stuff done’.

You may have just completed a degree and be looking for your first opportunity in that industry, or be an experienced Receptionist who is keen to try something with some variety.  Either way, you will be extremely well-presented, enjoy working at the centre of a business and be full of innovative ideas.

Babcock’s offices are located within the Royal NZ Navy’s Naval Base on Auckland’s North Shore. This picturesque location is ideally positioned for anyone who may wish to use the Devonport or Stanley Bay ferry.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and capable of obtaining a New Zealand Defence Force Security Clearance.
