Program Manager - Defence Aviation

We currently have an exciting full time permanent opportunity for an experienced and professional Program Manager to support our high performing Defence Aviation Business with Corporate Development. This position will be based in our state-of-the-art Australasian headquarters in the Adelaide CBD.

About the Role

Reporting to the Corporate Development Director the Program Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering future opportunities and growth across all facets of the Babcock Australasia Defence Aviation business. This role will have a strong focus on developing client relationships and engaging with all internal and external stakeholders in order to provide optimum opportunities across the business unit

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead all aspects of capture activity that leads to winning an executable orders including achievement of projected margin targets.

  • Support the Babcock governance processes for prosecuting opportunities and client management.

  • Lead Defence Aviation Programs Team during business winning process including the production of Gate briefing materials.

  • Working with the Corporate Development Director to engage potential customers and foster relationships in order to identify business opportunities in the Aviation sector.

  • Establish the customers’ business needs and where they align with the Babcock corporate strategy.

  • Develop Capture Plans for endorsement by the Corporate Development Director, and promulgate.

  • Produce all supporting documentation and presentations required to inform the Babcock Gate review process including the use of common office software tools.

  • Produce routine updates and a monthly report to the senior team on progress, risks and issues.

  • Develop and maintain an effective client base using a Client Management System.

  • Explore and develop cost effective and attractive operational and management solutions that satisfy or exceed the customer requirements, liaising across the Babcock International Group and with Suppliers as necessary.

About You

This role will align with an experienced Program Manager that has a proven track record of delivery within a defence organisation or experience within an aviation related operational or engineering role. Previous experience in Defence/Government Aviation within a maritime surveillance domain will be highly regarded. You will be a highly experienced professional that has an excellent interpersonal and analytical skill set. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying opportunities, driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly.
