Babcock International Group has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services for over a century. With revenue of around $9 billion in 2016/17, we improve the capability, reliability and availability of our customers’ most critical assets across Marine, Land and Aviation sectors.

Nothing is more important to Babcock than the safety of its people, customers and the community in which we work. With the motto of ‘Home Safe Every Day’, we have an uncompromising commitment to health and safety.

About the role:

This department is the first point of contact for our customer, the Chief Engineers of New Zealand's naval fleet and commercial vessels.  The success of critical maintenance work packages depends on our accurate, timely and highly skilled estimation.  We are looking for an Estimator to join our recently reinvigorated team!  Your role is pivotal in the tendering phase of our work to ensure resources and pricing are an accurate reflection of the work we deliver.  Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers is fundamental and you will relish the opportunity to work alongside the Defence Force and commercial engineering experts on a daily basis.

About you:

You'll have experience in the areas of Electrical, Mechanical or Fabrication engineering.  Ideally you will hold a relevant qualification in your specialist discipline, either as a recent graduate or a seasoned professional.  A background in the Marine industry would be an added bonus, but is not essential.  You will be able to devolop a deep understanding of the work we undertake, and will be absolutely committed to setting up our projects for success.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work in a great location, with total support and commitment from a hands-on leadership team. Drawing on the substantial experience of Babcock International, this is a unique opportunity for someone who can build strong customer relationships and influence the success of large scale projects.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and capable of obtaining a New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Security Clearance.
